What areas and skin types can be treated?
HALO™ can treat all skin types, on face and body. Popular off-face treatments include: neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs.
What is the procedure like?
You can expect to be in the office from 1-1.5hrs. A numbing cream will be applied on the area to be treated so that you are comfortable during the procedure. Depending on which areas you would like to have treated, it can take anywhere from 20-45 minutes to treat. The treatment involves first mapping out your face, so that we may adjust the treatment based on your unique skin. Some mild discomfort may be felt in certain areas, and your skin will feel warm.
What is the recovery time like?
Immediately after your Halo™ treatment a restorative skin cream will be applied to the treated areas to keep the skin hydrated. There are many factors that affect the recovery. Swelling and redness are common and expected after the treatment but every client is different. The skin quality, how much damage your skin has, and how deep the treatment went can all contribute to the swelling, redness, flaking, and amount of days of recovery. The area may feel very warm for 12-24 hours after the procedure. Cool compresses and lotion will help calm the warmth of your skin and help reduce swelling and discomfort. The more hydrated you keep the skin after the treatment, the quicker it will heal. When leaving the office you will look like you’ve been in the sun for a little too long.
You can resume your normal activities throughout the day. After 24 hours you may apply makeup.
On the second or third day after the treatment, you will begin to notice tiny dark spots and a bronzed appearance to the treated are of the skin. This is part of the normal healing process where treated tissue is working its way out of your body as new fresh skin is regenerated. During this time, your skin will be very dry and have a sandpaper texture. It will begin to flake and peel a few days after the procedure. For the face, this flaking can last 5-7 days. If the neck, chest or anywhere else on the body was treated, this process could take up to two weeks.
After the peeling process is complete, your skin will have a rosy, pink glow, this will gradually resolve. Sunscreen is necessary throughout the healing process. It should be applied daily beginning the day of treatment and used everyday for months post procedure.
When will I see results?
You will see initial results between 5 and 7 days after your Halo treatment, but your skin will continue to improve over time. Most clients see the greatest improvement to their pigment in the first 2 to 3 weeks. This is followed by a collagen induction and dermal regeneration phase that continues to improve your skin for months.
How many treatments do I need?
Depending on your age, damage of your skin, and what your goals are a treatment plan can be curated for you. Generally, most clients have the procedure done 1-3 times, 4 weeks apart followed by additional treatments every 6 months to a year to maintain results.
If the following statements apply to you, than you are a good candidate for the Halo™ treatment:
